Jio Effect: Airtel coming with unlimited voice plans ahead of Jio’s launch

Ahead of much awaited Reliance Jio’s commercial launch, data war already started among top Indian telecom companies. Airtel, Vodafone, Idea all increased their data limit up to 67% last month. Now Airtel has announced new postpaid offers with unlimited voice calling and bundled data under their ‘Infinity’ plan.

Rs. 1199 – Unlimited voice call (Local, STD and Roming), SMS (100/ day) with 1GB data (3G/4G)
Rs. 1599 – Unlimited voice call (Local, STD and Roming), SMS (100/ day) with 5GB data (3G/4G)

Along with unlimited voice call and SMS, subscribers will also have free access to Wynk Music and Wynk Movies service. Basic different between 1199 and 1599 plan is extra data of 4GB. Post limit data will be charged Rs 0.50 per MB.


Telecoms companies are not sure about upcoming Reliance Jio’s plans and tariff rate and already Jio has nearly 1.5 Million subscribers accessing unlimited voice and data offers. Jio still offering their 90 days of free unlimited 4G Internet and voice calling and other services with handsets starting Rs.2999. There is no doubt that after commercial launch of Reliance Jio, Indian telecom subscribers will see big change and huge tariff fall.
