Are you travelling abroad? Worried about internet access or data charges? Google Maps now allows you to save map locations offline on your phone’s internal memory or SD card. Additionally, you can also let Google Maps to use Wi-fi only. So there is no worry about network or internet availability while you’re travelling. Google Maps for Android got some major update with new look and interface last month with these new features.
To activate this feature, open Google Maps go to Menu > Offline areas > Settings > Storage preferences > Device and choose internal memory or SD Card. This feature is available for Android users only and yet to be announced for iOS users. To activate Wi-fi only feature just go to Menu followed but settings and select Wi-fi only mode. So just update your Google Maps app to avail this new feature.
